Only the lonely -

I read in today's newspaper that the Internet is a fabulous source of fun, information, debate, contributions all of the stuff required to make a pub conversation a little more fulfilling. Online banking, arranging trips, sharing music, checking flights, book car hire, make hotel reservations and of course shopping online allows more time to lounge around and watch lolcats

Well - I've found that the internet has enabled me to connect with like-minded people but read this illuminating note from a far away friend:

The knock on effect of the webternet is enormously beneficial to my mental health. I've discovered that actually I'm not alone - there are lots of people like me...

I have groups of friends all over the world - none of them know eachother. Before facebook I felt as though my life was fragmented, and I was never satisfied wherever I was because I missed people in another location. Facebook has brought it all together in one place - and now I can connect regularly with wonderful people I've met along the way.

I'm more content to settle and stay put - because the world is at my finger tips...

BA BA BLACK SHEEP HAVE YOU ANY CREW

Found this note in the SET's letterbox this morning - correspondence from a distant friend - which i thought I too would share with my faithfull followers

A thank-you note to Unite its members:

Contrary to many of the posts/comments on the BA cabin crew strike, I would actually like to extend my thanks to Unite and its Cabin Crew members. I will write personally to thank the Union in due course, but I thought that there would be no harm thanking them publicly. Originally my flights out to India were disrupted but once bitten twice shy.

Any unqualified school leaver could be a a member of the cabin crew, many could even muster a smile while they do it. Pilots now pay to train themselves, are highly skilled and highly educated. They take a huge burden of responsibility every time they step into a plane

Since the last strike I switched to Etihad the national airline of Abu Dhabi - and I honestly cannot believe my luck. Such service both at the airport and inflight, thoughtful staff and most important comfort.

Consequently, I shall not look back! I would never have discovered what I was missing out on were it not for Unite. Needless to say, my BA Executive Card will continue to gather dust and Etihad will have my continued custom for worldwide travel to see friends and family.  Just checking prices for flights to Mumbai online with a view to visiting my old curry munching buddy Apu Ape.

Thanks again BA for liberating my air travel.
